OVERVIEW

NakedPoppy curates clean cosmetics and skincare products. They provide an online beauty experience by tailoring custom recommendations to each user through a quiz. NakedPoppy reached out to Ethera during the beta stage of their website. Initial user feedback indicated that the current shopping and post quiz recommendation experience needed to be redesigned prior to a public launch.

SOLULTION

To get started, Ethera incorporated NakedPoppy’s user feedback to design the recommendation page personalized for each user with products and makeup looks requested in the quiz.

Further user testing and interviews uncovered fruitful insights to enhanced site functionality. Users desired shopping options beyond their “Perfect Picks” and they wanted to know how well the rest of the products on the site would work for them. To solve this, we created an experience that allowed users to shop all of the products, not just the quiz recommendations. To help users easily find what they’re looking for, we updated the site with smart search and a customized filter functionality. We also implemented a Product Match Rating unique to each user.

The product page redesign focused on improving usability, personalization, and emphasizing product attributes which extended the shopping experience. Recognizing the high value of reviews, we highlighted them and implemented an easily navigable interface for users to access them.

Additionally, an extensive UI style guide was provided to the NakedPoppy team to maintain cohesive design going forward.
